I am so pleased with this shawl that I almost thought about keeping it for myself, but it had already found a home. I could have done a better job blocking, but whatever. After all the time I spent with the shawl and my desire to be done with nupps I feel I did OK.
Stats: Sarah's Yarns in Ruby Spice, 60/40 mohair/silk. I used 2 full skeins (340 yds each) and part of another. I used US #6 needles. The hair on the yarn is almost as long as the hair on my head! Spring Trellis is going home with Shana, just in time for Mother's Day.
My azalea bush was bare and then when I went out to take pictures I was shocked at how many flowers are on it! Yay! So I fashioned a picture of the Spring Trellis in the springtime. How great is that!
So, now that that's done I've already cast on my next shawl, Tilia. This will be shawl #4 (of 10) and I'm using Schaefer Trenna yarn in the Willa Cather colorway, and it's smooth, pretty, and so far, so good for one day of knitting.
I'm also working on some contests for our Knitting in the Park day on June 26, weather permitting. My knitting circle will be at Pelham Bay Park for the day with our lunch, chairs and knitting. If anyone is in the area (Bronx) and wants to join us, just drop by. Some of us will be there pretty early in the day and you can't miss us.
Busy, busy me.
